Naren Akash R J is a final year undergraduate research student at the Center for Visual Information Technology, IIIT Hyderabad, pursuing his Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering with Honours. He is passionate about clinical machine intelligence and interested in approaching medical problems through a computational lens. He works with Prof. Jayanthi Sivaswamy at the intersection of machine learning, computer vision, and medical image analysis. Naren is proficient with software development tools, deep learning pipelines, and frameworks. He is a strong believer in technology for social good and is eager to learn and adapt to different environments. He demonstrates great leadership skills and has led several student-run organizations successfully in his college. He is passionate about bringing deep tech solutions from the lab to land. Currently, Naren works as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Center for Visual Information Technology, IIIT Hyderabad, where he utilizes anatomy-guided representation of lungs to predict the prognosis for COVID-19 patients using CT data at admission. He also serves as the Academia and Industry Officer for the MICCAI Student Board. Naren has a diverse educational background, having completed his High School Diploma from PVM Senior Secondary School, Tirunelveli, and his High School from Maharishi International Residential School, Chennai. He completed his Bachelor of Technology with Honours in Computer Science and Engineering from IIIT Hyderabad and is currently pursuing a Master of Science by Research in Computer Vision and Medical Image Analysis from the same institute. Naren's tech stack includes Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Research Scientist, ML, and Software Engineer. He has 0.86 years of relevant experience.
